Okilly Dokilly were just featured on an actual Simpsons episode!
You remember Okilly Dokilly. That Ned Flanders-themed metal band. These guys...
It's been some two-and-a-half years since we last checked in with them, but return with news that a clip of the 'White Wine Spritzer' video was played during the closing credits of a Simpsons episode last weekend. Recognition at last!
Lead singer Head Ned (of course) was understandably delighted: “Myself and everyone involved with Okilly Dokilly are so very honoured. The fact that the ‘White Wine Spritzer’ video appeared on an episode of The Simpsons is still unreal to us. We are very excited and beyond humbled to have been a part of the show’s legacy.”
The show’s Executive Producer, Al Jean, added: “We saw the video and knew they had to be on the show. We do not endorse their message of indiscriminate drinking of white wine spritzers.”
A heart-warming story, for sure. Now everyone go start a metal band that references your favourite cartoon!
