Disneyland Paris is set to get Marvel and Star Wars Lands
I'm a grown-ass woman and even I got swept up in the magic of Disneyland Paris when I went there a few years back. Apart from the extortionate price of fast food, it's actually a pretty cool place and it looks like it's about to get even cooler.
Disney are looking to invest in Disneyland Paris and turn it into what sounds like the most incredible theme park in Europe. The company are looking to spend two billion Euros to transform the current Disney park by adding three major new areas Frozen Land, Marvel Land & Star Wars Land. A new lake is also being built as a central point that connects all three of the new areas. Check out the concept art:
French President Emmanuel Macron has been in talks with the CEO of Disney, Robert Iger about the upcoming plans. Here's what Robert said:
We’re very excited about the future of Disneyland Paris and continue to invest in its long-term success. The resort is already the leading tourist destination in Europe, and the transformative expansion we announced today will add even more of our beloved characters and unparalleled storytelling to create new lands, attractions and entertainment that further elevate the guest experience and drive new opportunities for tourism in this dynamic region.
Prior to that, in 2020, the resort will open Disney’s Hotel New York – The Art of Marvel, a reimagining of Disney’s Hotel New York that will showcase the worlds of Iron Man, The Avengers and Spider-Man, among others.
Disney are still keeping many details under wraps but we do know the park’s Aerosmith Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster will be ravamped into a high-speed, hyper-kinetic Iron Man attraction. It's all pretty exciting. Let your inner child shine through!
