This advert will warm your heart before shattering it into tiny pieces

I came across this amazing advert from BBDO New York and simply had to share it with you. It will warm your heart before shattering it into tiny pieces.

The ad starts by introducing you to Evan, a high school kid who can't wait for the summer holidays. He's so bored that he begins etching words into a table in the library. The next day, he finds that someone has written back to him on the table - and then begins a pretty captivating back and forth between the pair. There seems to be romance building, and Evan is desperate to find out who the mystery person is. Watch the ad to see if he finds them.

It's a horrific ending, which I guess was the whole point of the ad. As it runs through the previous scenes once again, it's crazy how you could have missed so much of what was on the screen. Luckily, I live in a country where I don't have to be on the lookout for gun toting killers but sadly this is many peoples reality and this ad was made so people can be more cautious and aware of their surroundings.

The advertiser, Sandy Hook Promise is a nonprofit organisation led by family members whose loved ones were killed at Sandy Hook Elementary School four years ago this month. they said:

Quote:Through 'Evan,' we sought to show how different your perspective can be when you're aware of the signs. When you don't know what to look for, or can't recognize what you are seeing, it can be easy to miss warning signs or dismiss them as unimportant. That can lead to tragic consequences.

It's certainly not an advert you can forget.
