Terrifying footage of passengers fleeing the burning Emirates plane

An Emirates plane arriving from India caught fire on Wednesday after landing onto the runway in Dubai. All passengers and crew were safely evacuated after a crash but sadly one firefighter lost his life.

Sharon Maryam Sharji, a passenger recounts her ordeal - "It was actually really terrifying. As we were landing there was smoke coming out in the cabin". "People were screaming and we had a very hard landing. We left by going down the emergency slides and as we were leaving on the runway we could see the whole plane catch fire. It was horrifying."

This video from someone's phone shows the terrified passengers desperately trying to get off the plane before it bursts into flames.

It's incredible that all the passengers and crew were led to safety. Our thoughts are with the brave firefighter Jassim Essa Al-Baloushi and family. He died while saving the lives of other. What a hero!
