This story about a Chesterfield FC raffle is the most ridiculous thing you'll hear all day
The long version follows, but to cut it short...
The League One side recently ran a competition for a supporter to join the squad on their pre-season tour of Hungary. Tickets were £10 a pop, and the club obviously thought there'd be enough entries to at least cover costs. Who knows, maybe there'd even be a few quid left over?
They only ended up selling 4 or 5 tickets though, so rather than find themselves out of pocket they just made up a winner. Incredible!
This is how it all went down.
The man responsible for the debacle, marketing director Kevin Fitzgerald, has since resigned. What a mess!
