Manager says Jet Li is in 'great shape' despite frail appearance
People were pretty shocked when the picture of Jet-Li looking frail and ill emerged. He looked totally unrecognisable from the martial arts expert who starred in over 50 films.
It was revealed that he had been suffering from hyperthyroidism for the past ten years and despite him looking like an 85-year-old man, his manager has come forward to let people know he's absolutely fine. Jet Li's friend and manager Steven Chasman said that his client is actually in pretty good shape. He says:
He has hyperthyroidism that he’s been dealing with for almost 10 years. It’s nothing life-threatening and he’s dealing with it. We appreciate everyone’s concern. But Jet is completely fine. There’s nothing wrong with him. There’s no life-threatening illness. He’s in great shape. He doesn’t have any substantive health issues and is fine and well.
Great shape? Really? He doesn't bloody look like he's in great shape. Maybe the manager is just trying to do a bit of damage control. Jet Li is supposed to be starring in a live action version of Disney’s Mulan next year, so maybe he doesn't want to lose his fee. Of course I hope I'm wrong and that Jet is just looking a bit more weathered these days. Lets hope to see him in Mulan next year.
