Sisqo just released an updated version of The Thong Song!
This collaboration with JCY has a bit more of an electro vibe than the original r'n'b number, but 1999 was a long time ago and musical trends inevitably change.
As for the thongs themselves, they haven't altered too much but the dumps do seem to be a lot less like truck these days...

Yeah, that 2-3 year spell either side of the millennium was definitely the golden age for thongs, wasn't it?
