Southampton just ruined those new signing announcement videos for everyone
It's been getting a bit silly this summer, hasn't it? Watching clubs try to outdo each other with more and more elaborate ways to say that they've spent some money and strengthened their squad. Because social media. Because #numbers.
As a general rule, the budget and dramatic scale of such clips should be proportianate to the glamour and box office appeal of the signing in question.
With that in mind, the Saints agreeing a one-year contract extension with 3rd choice keeper Stuart Taylor probably warranted a text-only tweet, at best. Maybe a pic of him sat pen-in-hand at a desk if they were feeling flash.
